The Charity

Good Morning Service are a dynamic, innovative social enterprise who have set the standard for telephone befriending and alert services. Having developed software, working procedures and good practice guidelines since 2000, setting up 13 new services in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland. They are the industry experts who have lead the way in a new concept in social care.

In 2019-2024 the social enterprise will focus on maintaining support for existing clients whilst working to make the service available to every older person in Scotland.

A team of highly skilled telephone befrienders and supervisors deliver over 50,000 Good Morning Calls each year. Our befriending sessions give both emotional support in challenging times, and practical support in alerting to potential problems when our call remains unanswered.

Weekends and public holidays from 08:00 to 12:00 noon.
Good Night Calls over Winter from 17:00 to 20:00 when funding level allows.

Current Vacancies

Staff:Telephone Befrienders are our greatest asset. They are thinking, skilled and caring individuals who work hard to provide emotional, social and practical safety-net support, 365 days a year.Working hours are from 08.00 am to 11.00 am on three of any seven mornings per week as directed, plus one training afternoon per month, 12.30 to 3.30 pm on the 2nd Monday in the month. Rate of pay: £9.50 per hour.

We have no vacancies at present. However, if you can help someone look for a positive, but know when looking for a positive isn't appropriate, then please check back here regularly for new notifications.

Board of Trustees: Have expertise? Looking to widen your personal impact on our communities? We warmly welcome applications to our volunteer board of trustees. We're looking for professionals who are experienced in the fields of finance, ITC and social work. If you can commit to an average of one afternoon every 6 weeks then we want to hear from you.
